Drake Lodge

Drake Lodge was, until a few years ago, a pair of 1890’s semi-detached town houses. 2009 saw them both renovated, extended and adjoined to form a cutting-edge sheltered home. Our task was to further extend, forming a 3 storey glass-and-wood structure at the rear as further resident’s accommodation. Work was led by local Mitchel Architects.

Work involved:
Strip the existing external decking area of timber decking and stainless steel/ glass balustrades.
Undertake required works to existing gabion baskets, link bridge and timber fence.
Install new steel frame, to be connected to existing steel frame and supported off new pad foundations.
Construct new timber frame. To be constructed and insulated in accordance with the relevant drawings. Provide new windows to north and east elevation, relocate existing emergency exit door to the proposed new location.
Provide internal and external finishes, including fixtures and fittings in accordance with the relevant drawings.
Install all mechanical and electrical installations in accordance with the relevant drawings.
