The Bedford Hotel

The stunning Grade II listed Bedford Hotel in the centre of ancient Tavistock was built on the remains of a 10th century Benedictine Abbey. It dates back to 1725, and is listed by English Heritage.

Works we have been honoured to carry out on this stunning building recently have included upgrading the boiler room and the creation of a new entrance at the rear of the Hotel involving installation of a disabled platform lift, stairs and disabled bathroom. As befits such a building, design was led by local architect Stephen Whettem to ensure sympathetic yet sleek construction.
