Whitsand Bay

This pretty holiday chalet was designed to perch on the very clifftop at Whitsand Bay in Cornwall, and styled to grab every inch of the spectacular Atlantic views.

RM Builders and Contractors Ltd began by demolishing the existing chalet and excavating to a firm base level footing. All timber used came from a sustainable source and eco-friendly Knauf insulation ensures protection from the most vicious of winter winds. Architect-led specification instructed modern under-floor heating be installed, yet be finished with sleek oak floor boarding.

This, together with a rustic slate-hearthed woodburner in the lounge, guarantee warmth when needed whilst the huge, ocean-facing patio windows give the option of letting the Cornish sun pour in on lazy summer afternoons. The bathroom is fashioned as a wetroom to make the most of limited space, and similarly fitted shaker style wardrobes complete this bijoux and very desirable residence.
