WHITSAND BAY
RM Builders & Contractors delivered the Whitsand Bay holiday chalet, creating a modern coastal home in a truly exposed clifftop setting. This project combines strong construction with thoughtful design to make the most of its stunning Atlantic views.
We began by demolishing the original chalet and preparing the site. Our team then excavated the ground to form a stable and secure base. This step proved essential due to the challenging coastal conditions and the need for long-term durability.
We selected materials carefully to suit the exposed environment. All timber used in the build comes from sustainable sources. In addition, we installed high-performance Knauf insulation to protect the property from strong winds and harsh weather conditions that often affect the coastline.
The design focuses on comfort as well as performance. We installed modern underfloor heating throughout the chalet. Oak flooring finishes the interior, which adds warmth and creates a clean and contemporary feel.
We also ensured that the layout works with the surroundings. Large openings allow natural light to fill the space while framing the coastal views. As a result, the chalet feels open, bright and closely connected to the landscape.
